Where’s My Health Care? – A Forum to Change Our Health Insurance

April 10, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Let’s improve the health care system to save money and time without sacrificing medical care.

Massachusetts is one of the best states for health care, yet we have not escaped the inflated prices. Learn how we can change our policies and make an impact. We did it as a state in 2006 with Romneycare and we can do even better.

We all have experienced or know someone who has:
• put off going to a doctor or treatment due to a copay or high deductible
• struggled to pay for their necessary medication
• spent hours battling with the insurance company going from one representative to another
• had a doctor spend only 5 minuted with them to move onto another patient
• waited for hours for their appointment
• turned to GoFundMe to pay for medical bills & treatment
• traveled to another country for medicine or surgery
• and even more

We are one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet pay almost twice what the average is for similar countries ($10,224 vs the average of $5,280).

We can do better.

And we want to do better. About 70% of Americans state health care as their primary concern at elections.

Yet, little has changed.

Let’s start having a dialogue to improve the system.

We need to know our options, talk to others about them, and start putting pressure on our legislators.

Join us on Wednesday, April 10th at 7pm at the Maynard Public Library for a forum composed of medical professionals, legislators, business owners, and average people who want to save money and create a better health care system.

The Panel is composed of:
• Jamie Eldridge (State Senator and author of Medicare for All S.683 bill)
• Bill Taylor, MD (Public Health doctor, formerly of the CDC)
• Kate Murphy, RN (Staff nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital)
• Eliot Prisby (local business owner)
• Kimberley Connors (patient rights)

Please bring your questions.

Health shouldn’t be a luxury.

Invite your friends and let’s improve health care together.
