Come be part of a global phenomenon with us! PARK(ing) Day is celebrated around the world to engage in community conversations on the need for urban open space, and how and where these spaces are created. Last year, 160 cities across the world (including Lowell!) participated in #parkingday, and took a day in the park into a parking space. You can be part of PARK(ing) Day this year and hang out with us in eight parking spaces downtown!
Lowell’s 2017 PARK(ing) Day theme is reCYCLE. Look forward to seeing some PARK(ing) spaces downtown filled in with an artistic twist on recycled objects and information about recycling and composting programs in Lowell. We’ll even have a bicycle repair station! Come check us out PARK(ing) in front of Lowell Burger Co., Humanity Boutique, El Potro, and Little Delights on Merrimack Street, and UnCHARTed on Market Street.
PARK(ing) Day is made possible with help from DIY Lowell volunteers and support from the City of Lowell and downtown businesses.
