Lowell Education Justice Alliance meeting

Sorry for the lateness of this notice! Our next meeting will be Monday, Aug. 20th at 6pm. We’ll meet at the United Teachers of Lowell offices, 169 Merrimack Street, 4th floor.
Main agenda items:
1) Update on LEJA’s response to the removal of Superintendent Khelfaoui
2) Breakout sessions of:
–Neighborhood Schools/Redistricting working group (we want to be proactive in response to the school committee’s request for LPS administration to present a plan for a return to neighborhood schools. What would this mean for our students? How would this impact the desegregation order?)
–Opt-out of high-stakes testing working group
I’m sure we’ll have a few more items to add.
Also, we have a meeting of our newly formed youth group on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 5pm at UTL offices. If you know of youth who would like to be involved, have them join us!
