Forum on Climate Change with Sen. Marc Pacheco

I am pleased to invite you to a special presentation on climate change that I will be hosting along with Senator Marc Pacheco, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change.
Climate change poses an immediate and disastrous threat to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its individual communities. It is critically important that we remain committed to combating the increasingly dangerous side effects of this environmental emergency. The recent flooding that has become commonplace in coastal regions of the Commonwealth and the abnormal climate patterns of recent years seen around the globe illustrate the urgency surrounding this issue, and demonstrates to all of us that swift action is needed.
As the Chair of the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change, Senator Pacheco has been one of the Massachusetts Legislature’s foremost experts on climate change, helping to position the Commonwealth as a national leader on climate change mitigation and climate resiliency policy. Meaningful action to address the devastating impact of climate change will depend on cooperation and collaborative efforts at the federal, state, and local levels. It is my hope that this event will provide an occasion to discuss what each of us can do to contribute to these efforts.
