Filmshowing and Fundraiser for Mumia in Lowell, MA

April 24, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On April 30, Mumia Abu-Jamal, the United States’ most prominent political prisoner, the “Voice of the Voiceless,” goes to court. Framed up on murder charges in 1982, this former Black Panther, MOVE supporter and radical journalist has been in prison ever since. The Class Struggle Education League (CSEL) is organizing carpools to Philadelphia to pack the court on Mumia’s behalf. While we welcome recent legal developments in Mumia’s case, we also know that Mumia has been proven an innocent man over and over and we can have no faith in the racist, capitalist courts to provide justice. We call for mass mobilizations, centered on the labor movement, to rally in Mumia’s defense and, as such, encourage all reading this to consider traveling to Phildelphia on the 30th.

In the meantime, CSEL are holding a series of fundraising film-showings throughout the area. On April 24th, we will be showing the short film “From Death Row–This Is Mumia Abu-Jamal” with discussion to follow.

All donations to be sent to Mobilization4Mumia.
