The Mass Association of Councils on Aging, in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, is offering a 3-Day training to prepare people to facilitate an evidence-based, life-changing workshop for people who struggle with too much stuff! An estimated 2% to 5% of the US population has this challenge…you can help!
Attendees of the BIT Workshop Facilitator Training will:
• Review the latest clinical and peer support research in the area of HD
• Discuss the impacts of negative attitudes towards people with too much stuff and how to help restore hope and empathy
• Learn how to facilitate The Buried in Treasures Workshop through demonstration and direct participation and practice
• Gain facilitation skills and learn about group dynamics
Your trainers will be Lee Shuer and Bec Belofsky Shuer, internationally-recognized educators and advocates for peer support
and recovery. Lee co-developed the BIT Facilitator’s Guide with Dr. Frost.
