Over the next nine-years the Massachusetts Department of Transportation is spending $1B on rebuilding a mile stretch of the I-90 turnpike in Allston, and not providing any improvements to bus or train connections locally or regionally until 2040 (ie. never!). We’re going to meet during the morning rush hour traffic jam at the Double Tree Hotel (without blocking traffic) and demand the MassDOT refocus the project to build the transit station first and not delay it for decades.
We will march (on the sidewalks) from the Doubletree/River St Bridge/Cambridge St intersection to Governor Baker’s campaign headquarters at 500 Lincoln Street to let him know that we need West Station NOW! Our neighborhood deserves better transit and we need to let him know.
Join us for a few minutes on your way to work or stay & linger for a while. Signs & banners will be provided or bring your own.
