MVP Leadership Training to Take

January 19, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Last January, MVP leaders had their first-ever Executive Council retreat as a way to bond and to share a vision for what would become MVP’s Year Of Action. The event including a training by Kevin Odell, the InterValley Project’s director of development, as well as sessions led by the organizing staff. In evaluating the retreat, MVP leaders felt it was a good way to come together after the holiday season and to plan strategies and tactics needed for a successful year. The organizing staff noted the feedback and wanted to find a way to make the next year’s retreat even more meaningful.

With that idea in mind, MVP leaders have planned a full-day leadership training for Saturday, January 19th. This event will run from 9:30 – 4:30and will include snacks and lunch, provided by MVP. In addition to our Executive Council members, MVP is inviting all our leaders who would like to share their vision for MVP in 2019 to attend. The training will be divided up into a morning and afternoon session with the morning focusing on the theory and practice of organizing while the afternoon will focus on fundraising tactics and strategies. Leading the morning session will again be Kevin Odell along with Luke Hill of the InterValley Project and leading the afternoon session will be Kathy Sharkey of the Peace Development Fund. By the end, MVP’s core team of leaders will have a plan in place to make 2019 another strong year for social justice work in the Merrimack Valley.

If you would like to attend the event and have not already expressed interest to an organizer, please email Trevor LaFauci at TrevorLaFauciMVP@gmail.com to be added to our roster so we can coordinate food and transportation for all attendees.
