Our Shared Table: MIRA’s 15th annual Thanksgiving luncheon

November 26, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

MIRA members & groups, please sign up directly on Eventbrite!!!

Every year, to kick off the holiday season, MIRA hosts a luncheon at the State House for newly sworn-in U.S citizens and other immigrants and refugees. Elected officials, MIRA members, and supporters join us to celebrate our Commonwealth’s rich diversity, share personal stories and make new connections.

This year’s luncheon, in the Hall of Flags, will highlight emerging leaders in our communities, including newly elected officials from the federal, to the state, to the local level. For the second year in a row, we will honor a Young Champion of Justice – this time, Wayne Yeh, of the Chinese Progressive Association and API-CAN.

Our program will feature Yvette Modestin, founder of Encuentro Diaspora Afro, and the Rev. Dieufort Fleurissaint, of Haitian-Americans United. We will also have special remarks from Attorney General Maura Healey and other public officials. Our emcee will be Cristela Guerra, of WBUR.

The event is FREE and open to all, but space is limited, so get your tickets ASAP (and please let us know if the size of your party changes!). Last year we sold out. Sponsorship opportunities available, and we also accept donations to help cover costs: http://bit.ly/Shared2019.
