SUMMARY:Lowell-Lawrence JFON Clinics
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to open the Lowell-Lawrence JFON Clinics in November with scheduled dates on Wednesday\, November 14 (Lowell Clinic) and Monday\, November\, November 26 (Lawrence Clinic).  At the present time\, we have four Clinic Coordinators:  Pam Brewster (Aldersgate UMC\, Chelmsford)\, Sharon Jones (W. Chelmsford UMC\, Chelmsford)\, Becky Mantz (Bedford) and David Troughton (W. Chelmsford UMC\, Chelmsford). \nThe clinics will be held on the second Wednesday (Lowell Clinic) and fourth Monday (Lawrence) of each month or\, in cases of a Monday holiday\, the third Monday of the month.  The Lowell Clinic will be conducted at the Centralville United Methodist Church (800 Bridge St.\, Lowell) and Christ United Methodist Church (207 Haverhill St.\, Lawrence).  We have scheduled the following clinic dates: \nLowell:  Wednesday:  November 14\, December 12\, January 9 and February 13 \nLawrence:  Monday: November 26\, December 17\, January 28 and February 25 \nThe volunteer staffing for each clinic will include: \n\nClinic Coordinators:  Coordinate clinic operation\nIntake Volunteer (2-3):  Complete confidential client paperwork at clinic\nHospitality (2-3):  Prepare and serve light supper  / refreshments for clinic\nChild care (1-2):  Supervise (as needed) young-children during the clinic\nInterpreters (2-3)\, as needed (Spanish\, Portuguese\, Other)\nAdditional volunteers will be needed to support on-going fund raising\, marketing and outreach.

DESCRIPTION:Together & Free\, and we are looking to recruit some volunteers to join ‘support pods’ for families that were separated while crossing the border into the U.S. and are now reunited in the Boston area. Each volunteer will be part of a small group that is dedicated to one or two families\, and together\, the group will make an ongoing commitment to help the family by gathering donations on their behalf\, visiting them to drop off food or clothes\, giving them rides to appointments\, helping them navigate accessing services\, etc. Each individual volunteer will have flexibility to help when they are able\, and the family will have a network to draw on. At the moment\, there is an urgent need for more volunteers to help families in North Chelmsford and Lowell. These are Spanish-speaking families\, so facility with Spanish is a plus\, but many of the support activities can be handled using Google translate and enthusiastic hand gestures (I speak from experience).
