DESCRIPTION:Please join CHAPA for our 4th Housing Day at the State House on Monday\, March 11th\, 2019. This is an important opportunity for housing advocates to come together to meet with legislators to promote the policies and resources that will help every family in Massachusetts have a safe\, healthy\, and affordable place to call home! \nAt Housing Day\, we will advocate for legislation and programs to produce and preserve affordable housing. Our priorities for Housing Day 2019 include CHAPA’s FY2020 Budget Priorities and CHAPA’s 2019-2020 Legislative Agenda. \nA speaking program will begin at 9:30 a.m. when we will hear from legislators and housing leaders. This will be followed by meetings with legislators between 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. that CHAPA can help arrange for attendees or these meetings can be coordinated independently. \n#mapoli #affordablehousing #housing #publicpolicy #legislation

SUMMARY:Final Push! No MBTA Fare Hikes
DESCRIPTION:The MBTA’s governing board will vote on the proposed fare hikes this Monday\, March 11th at their 12PM meeting\, but not before hearing public testimony from anyone who signs up. Join me there to speak up in this final push and keep up pressure on transit equity and sustainable funding\, NOT regressive fare hikes! \nOver the last few weeks\, 3\,000+ commuters have signed our petition opposing fare hikes and calling for sustainable funding and steps to expand transit access such as free student and senior passes\, low-income fares and fare-capping\, and designated fare-free bus routes through underserved communities. After we organized to pack the MBTA’s public meeting last Wednesday\, several T Board Members signaled that they’d like to see changes in the fare proposal.
